A New Sunspot for Solar Cycle 24

The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) is monitoring a sunspot now forming in the sun’s northern hemisphere. The spot’s high latitude and magnetic polarity identify it as a member of new Solar Cycle 24. – http://www.spaceweather.com.

It is amazing what a tiny little sunspot at the right time will do. Quiet geomagnetic conditions and a solar flux of 72, made tonight one of the best in a while for DX.
