VK CW Beginners Net- Learn Morse Code and Make Your First Contacts

I am starting a brand new amateur radio net. You can find us here – http://vkcwbeginners.wordpress.com/

VK CW Beginners Net (Tues, Thurs, Sat) 0930 utc on 7190 kHz.- This net will work in a similar fashion to the 7130 DX net.

The first time CW contact is daunting, so the plan is to allow people to first check in on SSB. Though you have checked in, it is not necessary for you to send CW- you can just listen if you like.

Net Control will ask for check-ins on SSB. Once all stations are checked in on SSB, net control will ask for anyone who wants to make a contact to call. Once all of those who wish to make a call are listed, net control will go through the list. While still using SSB, you can name which station you would like to contact- net control then allows you to do so. You can exchange reports and have a short QSO. Mistakes are no problem, and we will all have fun. Stations are expected to reply at the same speed as the initial station sends. I will kick off this new net as net control on Tuesday 30 October 2012. I am a beginner at CW, so if I can do it, so can you. I am keen for others who will be interested in acting as net control.
