RW3 – Russia via CW QRP

I stayed up late tonight to see if I could land a European contact. Given that I operate QRP with the foundation allowance of 10 watts, I figured my best bet was via CW. As the old saying goes CW is worth at least 6 dB 🙂

I sent quite a view CQ calls without an answer, then decided to post my call on DX Cluster with the note “QRP and new to CW.” It wasn’t very long before I got a reply from RW3DD Konstatin in Istra, European Russia. (Logged at 1430 UTC)

He was a good solid 599 and my sig report from him was 559- not bad from 10 W into a G5RV at 15 meters.
